...else...if...var...command....
Coming from a designer background these commands just end up confusing me.
The progress of learning the Unity3D engine is coming along quite nicely, but the amount of programming knowledge needed in order to create a good alpha is far greater than what I expected. This makes me appreciate the node based Unreal script that is much more “designer friendly”.
That does not mean that I don’t understand it. I learn more and more every day, and that is the great thing about game developing. There is so many different fields of knowledge required to create a quality product, and forces those that reach for it and work had enough can create pretty much what ever kind of game imaginable. Though the more knowledge in for example scripting the easier the task.
This is why I am so focused on learning the required scripting required to create a satisfying product, and one day maybe be involved in a groundbreaking and innovating game.
I can go days without a lot of progress, but suddenly I discover a method that solves a problem that improves the game drastically, and that rewarding feeling is what drives me forward though I have very little experience and understanding in the field of scripting and programming.
It may not look like much at the moment, but I hope all this hard work and effort will pay of in the future.
